I plan on adding some more poetry to this site soon. You can alson expect some changes in the coming months. I’m finishing up the school semester as well as looking for a new job. I’ll also be. Getting a new place so there’s a lot going on right now. I have been writing the old school way…good ol paper and pen. Most of it is pretty deep and came out during very emotional times. It’s been exactly one month since my last update. I feel like I’m neglecting this site but at least I’m not forgetting it! I’m updating from my SideKick right now so I’m going to apologize for the double posts. I’ll fix it when I can update from a computer. It’s funny but this is the only site that I can update from my SK. Maybe it’s a sign?? I have a new project that I’m working on and I’ll be sure to link it here when it’s up and running. Just wanted to leave a brief update. I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day!

Sitting here in my bed
All these things running through my head
Why is life so complicated
Is it because we’re educated
Is it because we know right from wrong
Or does it have anything to do with living so long
Is it because we can’t help but love
Or is it none of the above?

I haven’t posted anything here in a while. I told myself that once I got this site up and running I wouldn’t go without posting something for more than 30 days. I’m almost at that 30-day mark. If you notice the 2nd theme in the 100 themes project is love. I think love is a subject that can be attacked at many different angles. For me it just depends on how I feel, and what’s going on at that moment. I haven’t decided which poem I wanted to use for the 100 themes, if any. If I had to choose today it would probably be the 2nd one.

Step up to me
Hold my hand
Press your lips
Up against mine
Unbutton my shirt
I take off yours
You lay me down
And we come together
As one
No words exchanged
Only sounds
I then ask myself
Is this love?

Love is a game
You can spend all your life chasing it
And when you finally catch up to it
You get distracted with unfortunate events
When you finally get your life straightened out
The game begins again
But is it really worth it?
Love is like a distant beauty
When it finally reaches you
Its frightening because its so close
Love has no definition.
Nor does it have
A beginning or end.
Love is what you make it.

The last time I blogged I briefly mentioned the 100 Themes challenge. I’m happy to announce that I will be doing the challenge with the lovely and talented Miracle. She’ll do illustrations while I’ll do poetry. This will give us a project that we can do together.
